Gin and chocolate? Watch out, magician at work

Australia’s oldest household-owned chocolate maker has partnered with award-successful gin distilleries from South Australia, NSW and Victoria to unveil the a few confined-version sweets.

Swiss-born chocolate expert and Haigh’s Candies solution manager Ben Kolly was tasked with the enviable problem of marrying two of life’s best pleasures.

In undertaking so, he captured the flavours of modest-batch gins by Adelaide Hills Distillery, Sydney’s Archie Rose Distilling Co. and Melbourne Gin Business.

“It was about creating recipes that have equilibrium,” Mr Kolly said. “The crew and I would meet just about every fortnight to smell and style the sweets right until we received it ideal.”

The final result is a Milk Adelaide Hills Bitter Orange Ganache, The Dim Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin Ganache, and a Milk Melbourne Dry Gin Fudge.
