At a push meeting on Tuesday, Gov. Walz announced the state is launching a civil legal rights investigation into the Minneapolis Police Division with the Minnesota Division of Human Rights.
“This isn’t about a damaged technique, this is about a technique that is functioning accurately as how it was designed,” Walz said. “Unfortunately, that is meant to exclude some from it.”
“If this is not an inflection place to improve that [technique], this will appear back again yet again if it’s not tackled. This will not go absent once the fires are put out and there is a lull,” he said. “This is systemic not just in Minneapolis and Minnesota, but it requirements to commence someplace. It requirements to commence exactly where we know items took place.”
