AEPC urges government to keep factories free from lockdowns

New Delhi, Clothing exporters entire body AEPC on Monday expressed problem around doable imposition of lockdowns owing to a resurgence in coronavirus infections and urged the government to maintain factories cost-free from restrictions. “The marketplace, which supports around 13 million staff directly and several additional indirectly, in rural and backward parts and largely contains MSMEs (Micro, Compact & Medium Enterprises), will be severely impacted by the disruption if the lockdown is again imposed in the factories,” AEPC (Clothing Export Marketing Council) Chairman A Sakthivel claimed.

He claimed that all factories have been getting stringent steps and following stringent wellness protocols and the exporters are inclined to follow even additional stringent security steps but would want to stay clear of even partial lockdowns.
