Satisfied Lunar New Yr! The Calendar year of the Tiger phone calls for a throwback to a customized tiger ring I designed many years back for magnificent shopper Christine.

18K yellow gold with black diamonds, tsavorites, and a South Sea pearl.

I would appreciate to make a new tiger ring for the Tiger Calendar year — with some modifications, of system, so that Christine’s ring would continue to be uniquely hers.

The unique tiger ring

It would be satisfying to get some orange sapphires into this design and style. I was by now wondering of blue sapphires for the eyes when beautiful Arlene chimed in on Fb to suggest that a star sapphire would be a deserving successor to the original’s black pearl. I concur! Also, I have never worked with a star sapphire.

This is a huge bold ring. I don’t consider I have any shots of the completed ring “in the wild” (in other terms, on Christine’s hand), but you can get some thought of the dimension from this photo of me keeping the first hand-carved wax model for the piece.

It’s about the dimensions of my Empress Wu dragon ring.

If you’re fascinated in commissioning your personal specific tiger ring — and you can choose your individual gems rather than go with my sapphire strategies — DM me on Instagram or email me at data at wendybrandes dot com.

Many thanks to Metal & Smith for such as my tiger ring in their spherical-up of tiger jewellery. Click on the picture under to go to their submit and see what other jewellery designers have to provide. There’s a tiger for folks of all stripes. (Sorry, I had to say it!)
